Estelle Brown and Portia Griffin of the Sweet Inspirations from the R&B Hall of Fame will join Shawn Klush and Jake Rowley for the Elvis Tribute Artist Spectacular presented by the Scranton Cultural Center and JZ Tours for just 'one night only' Friday May 15th.
Estelle Brown sang with Elvis from 1969 until his untimely passing in 1977. She stood on stage with Elvis for over 1000 performances. The Sweet inspirations had a hit record on the Pop, Soul and R and B charts in 1969. When Elvis heard that sound he just had to have them sing with him. You can also hear Estelle's voice on the records of Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Wilson Picket, Van Morrison and Dionne Warwick. Portia Griffin who has been with the group for 19 years sang with Jeffery Osborne, the Killers and many more. Come and meet them May 15th in Scranton at a special Concert in Shawn's hometown. It will be a night to remember and a chance to meet these Legends! The event also stars hometown celebrity Shawn Klush, Elvis Presley Enterprises' 1st ever Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist who was featured on The Late Show with David Letterman. Opening the show for Shawn will be 19 year old Jake Rowley, the 'teen king' direct from his role as the young Elvis in Million Dollar Quartet. Several Northeast PA musicians will also be joining the Fabulous Ambassadors band from Chicago for an unforgettable musical experience.
